Have your say - community consultation
Landcom is preparing long term plans for our new development in Glenfield. We are shaping to build a lively town centre with shopping, dining and entertainment options, and a vibrant mix of apartments, houses and community spaces, all built around open spaces that preserve the green, open feel highly valued by the community.

The project
Glenfield will be a new thriving, sustainable, walkable and connected community. It will offer residents a lifestyle close to transport and recreation opportunities. It will feature a mix of homes set within leafy, green streets with walking and cycling links to the station, open space and a lively town centre.
Delivering more than 3,900 new homes over the next 15 years. The project is a strong example of Landcom’s commitment to boosting the supply of new and diverse housing and creating great places to live. The housing will feature a mix of detached houses, terraces, townhouses and apartments.
Glenfield is conveniently located with easy access to the M5 Motorway and Hume Highway and next to the Glenfield Train Station, a major interchange which provides train connections to Sydney, Campbelltown, Liverpool, Parramatta and soon to the new Western Sydney Airport.

Design excellence and sustainable living
Glenfield is seeking to model best-practice design and sustainability outcomes and is striving to achieve carbon-neutral, water-positive and zero-waste outcomes while enhancing the area’s natural assets.
At Glenfield, sustainability is paramount. We aim to design and deliver a community that demonstrates a high level of liveability, resilience and environmental quality by:
· establishing global best practice in line with the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star Communities rating tool
· establishing a leafy tree canopy and green open spaces that will help reduce the impact of Westen Sydney’s hot summer heat
· providing walking and cycling connections within the area and to Glenfield Station and beyond to reduce car use
· providing a mix of housing types and designs that encourage multi-generational families to live in the community, and provide options for households with different needs and budgets.

108ha

Previous community engagement
In June 2024, Landcom invited community members to be part of a conversation to share their ideas and aspirations for the future of Glenfield to help shape a shared vision. We asked community members to have their say to help us plan and deliver a place that people will love to live in and that reflects and celebrates Glenfield's unique features.
Read the summary of what we heard from the community about their vision for the new neighbourhood in Glenfield.
